The Bad News
One out of every six American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. 223,000 American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. A man is 35 percent more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than a woman is to have breast cancer.

The Good News
Prostate cancer is one of the most easily detected and easily cured forms of cancer. More than 2.5 million American men diagnosed with prostate cancer are still alive today.

When To Take Action
Starting at age 50, you should talk to your physician to determine if testing for prostate cancer is the right choice for you. African-Americans and men who have a father or brother diagnosed with prostate cancer before age 65 should talk to their physician at age 45.
