Age

Prostate Cancer is rare in young men. At age 50, your chances for having the disease start to rise quickly. About six in 10 cases of prostate cancer occur in men age 65 and older.

Race

African-American Men are more likely to have prostate cancer than Hispanic or white men. In fact, African-American men are twice as likely to die of prostate cancer than any other ethnic group.

Family History

Prostate Cancer seems to run in families. There may be a genetic factor involved. Your risk more than doubles if your father or a brother had the disease.

Diet

Eating a Lot of Red Meat and consuming high-fat dairy products appears to create a slightly higher risk for prostate cancer.
